Quote from legoflamb :are the addon tracks locked if you don't have a license?

Ahh, yeah, they probably are locked for demoers. But not online apparently....

Quote from Shotglass :im not exactly sure if it was 1.1 or 1.03 when i last tried the multi but last time i checked calling the server browser functional would have been an exaggeration

Depends on what you call functional i suppose.

Press Online race, list of servers appears ordered by ping. Join one. Race. That's functional enough for me.

Quote from legoflamb :The real tracks are 3rd party, am I correct? I didn't see any on the main website under the tracks section.

Correct.

I think we have most of them hosted on our site.

Quote from legoflamb :Yeah that was the problem.. Got it working now... so when are there demo servers populated?

Thanks go to the both of you.

To be honest there's not a lot of pickup racing taking place. Nearly all netKar racing these days seems to be league racing. There's plenty of that taking place. The trouble with demo servers was they attracted a lot of idiots, so all the decent racers stuck to league races.

The next beta should be released to the public very soon though ( it's already being tested privately) and i'm sure there will be a ton of pickup racing going on then, but that will inevitably die off again and everyone will go back to league racing.

Personally speaking that's fine by me, i much prefer racing with the sort of people leagues attract. It is unfortunately not really the sim for you if your looking for pickup racing.

If you fancy trying it out in a league situation then try race2play. They currently run a FF1600 league. Demoers are more than welcome.

@Dustin. Have you considered race2play for some league action? It's a good mix of experienced guys and newcomers to nKPro. Well organised, great servers, clean drivers. The (very popular) F2000 and FTarget leagues are on Mondays though... probably not at the right time for you...

Quote from legoflamb :Thanks i jut got back and the LFS forum was the first one i checked.

I extracted the patch into my NKp dir but the problem still occurs. Ill try again just to make sure.

Hmm, that's very odd if that doesn't work. The update fixed that problem for everyone else.

Was it a clean install of v1.1 beta 2 in the first place? You didn't install it over 1.03 did you? (that definitely wouldn't work)

Quote from Shotglass :
mind you the words multiplayer and available or functional and netkar are a bit of a strech at the best of times

ffs Shotglass, stop talking out of your backside. The multiplayer in 1.1 is as functional as any other sim on the market.

Kindly explain what is wrong with it (with some actual facts, not hearsay) or kindly stfu.

Its a piece of piss to join a server and the netcode is as tight, if not tighter, than any other sim i race.

I really am getting fed up with the complete bullshit that is spoken about netKar at times. This isn't 2007 anymore. The sim's moved on.

@ legoflamb. I responded to your post at RSC. I'm guessing you haven't installed the update to the beta. The issue your having was solved within a few days of the beta 2 release.

Quote from SilverArrows77 :To me it makes perfect sense to have FF set per car (therefore obvious enough that its in garage settings) - Personally i wish LFS had this via garage

I'm right with you there. I use a different FF setting for each car, so having that setting in the garage makes perfect sense to me.

Quote from JackCY :netkar pro... very diappointed, unplayable on mouse, bad menus and configuration, stupid install and running, too high graphic requirements, shitty demo, only one formula and one car, no MP in that no other cars, no fun, LFS rocks one of best games I've ever played well I'm playing it still actually will never and maybe

Laughable comments.

Menus...perfectly functional

Configuration... Easier to configure than LFS

Install.. Don't understand your comment in the slightest to be honest. Click install and install it. Whats the problem?

To high Graphics requirements????? On a very modest system for 2009 (E7400 and an 384mb 8800GTS i get over 300 FPS on some tracks and never less than 200FPS, with all options up full and 8*AA 16*AF It may need higher requirements the LFS, but it's far better looking.

Shitty Demo?... a fifth of the cars and all the tracks online. That's a far higher percentage of content than even LFS provides in it's demo.

Though if you're the sort of person that want to play racing sims with a mouse then it's definitely not the sim for you anyway.

Come back when you have something even remotely sensible to say.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :I'm just going to move the track folder into my 1.1 install and test it. Has worked for all the other tracks, so I can't imagine why it'd not work for this one.

Didn't work for me...
